Tier list (community Feb 2026): S = Jet Turbine, V8 (EngineD), Electric, Racing V8. A = Injection, Engine L, Le Van. B = Vaz (stock), SMZ. C = Moped. Pick the engine that matches the trip profile — not the engine with the highest top speed.
Why the V8 is the long-distance king
The V8 (EngineD) Diesel travels >237 km on a single litre of diesel at top speed. That's better range than any gas engine by an order of magnitude. Use it for cross-map expeditions; use Electric for silent runner + battery scavenging; use Injection as the first mid-game upgrade.
Gearbox Pro — the 5th gear
The Gearbox Pro unlocks a 5th gear (stock gearbox is 4). Standard test: Lada + Vaz Engine + Normal Gearbox hits 12 sec 0–60 km/h. With Gearbox Pro, ~8 sec 0–60 km/h and 200 km/h top. In a Van + V8 Van Engine: Normal ~33 sec 0–100 km/h, Gearbox Pro ~20 sec 0–100 km/h and 225 km/h top.
Fuel economy over top speed
The Vaz Engine burns ~0.10 L/km gas at cruise. The Injection Engine burns ~0.08 L/km gas. The V8 (EngineD) Diesel burns ~0.0042 L/km (1 / 237). Use the fuel calculator to compare exactly per gearbox + terrain + load.
Don't trust BleedInformer on fuel type
BloxInformer lists the Electric Engine as 'gas' — this is mislabeled. The Electric Engine runs on Ultra Power Batteries, not gasoline. Fandom and adesrt.wiki are correct.
